Seed Potato ‘Kerrs Pink’
- Suitable for growing in Grow-Sacks and veg plots
- Perfect for boiling or mashing
- Exhibition-worthy potatoes
‘Kerr’s Pink’ is definitely a variety to feature in your plot. This is an exhibition-worthy variety, perfectly fluffy and floury in texture with attractive blush-pink skins. They make great boiled or mashed potatoes, and are excellent for storing, so can be enjoyed through the autumn and even into winter. We would recommend storing these potatoes in a cool, dry place like a porch or garage, checking over time for any bruising.
This variety produces tall plants, so our recommendation would be to plant the seed potatoes 30-35cm apart to give them sufficient space to grow. The extra green growth encourages more potatoes to form underground, meaning crops will be bigger than a lot of other varieties. Mound the surrounding soil halfway up the stems every time plants grow an extra 5-10cm. This will keep the potatoes in the soil healthy, and prevent them from turning green.
