Magnolia Stellata Plant ‘Rosea’
- Starry pink flowers in spring
- Compact, bushy shrub
- Good for small gardens
Magnolia stellata ‘Rosea’ is a compact variety, with with masses of soft pink starry flowers on bare branches in spring. Smaller than other star magnolias, this attractive deciduous shrub makes a beautiful specimen plant for a small garden or even in a large container.
Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot, avoiding east-facing sites as frosts followed by sunshine can damage the buds before they have time to thaw. Prune in midsummer, only if necessary to remove damaged or crossing branches. Mulch well with compost or leaf mould in spring.
